anzac day @ shrine of remembrance

ahead of anzac day, which falls on 25 april, i made a visit to the shrine of remembrance. the shrine is one of australia's largest war memorials. it is located along st kilda road, just south of melbourne's central business district.

the broad ceremonial approach to the shrine is lined with bhutan cypress, the national tree of bhutan.

a dawn service will be held at the shrine of remembrance commencing at 6.00am -6.15am.
members of the public are welcome to the dawn service but are advised that they should be at the shrine by 5.30am.

the anzac day march commences at 9am at the corner of swanston and flinders streets. the march continues along st kilda road to the shrine where all participants march up the forecourt prior to dismissing when they reach the shrine steps.
