local beauty @ hougang ave 9
i had seen her a fortnight ago when i visited my sister in hougang. did not think of taking a picture of her until i saw my fellow blogger chun see featured two foreign beauties in his blog recently.
in malaysia and other countries where old beauties abound, they are not cloistered like those in singapore. in singapore, you hardly see these classic cars on the road. they are shut away in hdb car-parks, private driveways or personal garages.
the other day when i was at farrer park, i saw another classic, an older one with the red and yellow number plate. will try and take a picture of it the next time i visit my gloucester road friend.

Is it the Ford Anglia with the inward sloping rear window, I never did understand the purpose of the window being like that unless it was to keep it dry in the rain.
yes, it's a ford anglia, built in the 60s, i think. i really don't know much about this car. never driven one.
It looked familiar. But I couldn't recognize it. I think it was very popular in 60's. The Holden also.
I believe this Ford Anglia model was assembled at Ford Motor plant in Upper Bukit Timah Road, together with the Ford Cortina and Fort Escort models in the 1960s. I saw these models at the Ford dealer ("Universal Motors Ltd") motor showroom in the present-day Doby Gaut MRT Station opposite Plaza Singapura.
Holden was an imported car.
