melbourne's transport
if you visit melbourne, you cannot miss these two traditional means of transport - the horse- drawn carriage and the tram. the trams go all the way to the suburbs.
the horse-drawn carriages are parked at designated places along swanston street. they do not operate at night. rides are not cheap; a half hour ride will set up back about $100.
there is a free tram service - the city circle - which covers the city centre, stopping at the major tourist attractions. you can get off at any stop, go sightseeing and then hop on to the next tram.
