the one thing that puts a lot of people off about eating at this food centre is the problem of finding a parking space, especially in the evening. but, if you are willing to walk a little bit further, there is actually ample parking space in the vicinity of the food court. today, i parked away from the centre, in the open car-park opposite block 93.
met up with my ex-colleague for lunch. i let her do the ordering since she lives nearby at jalan batu and so she should know which are the stalls that sell the good stuff. during my past visits, i would go for ricos kway chap or nam sing hokkien fried mee for lunch and the black pepper crab from mattar road seafood bbq for dinner.
she mentioned a few of the stalls that she regularly buys from, like wang wang crispy curry puff, western bbq and the kallang wanton mee. however, for lunch she ordered water-cress soup and herbal chicken from stall #01-130, mr cook. earlier she had gone to ssk (jb) to get me some fried fritters as takeaway.
got her to try the soursop juice from meilock which she found refreshing. before we left the centre, she reminded me about the 'heatiness' of the fritters, especially the one with the sticky cake sandwiched between a piece of sweet potato and a piece of yam.
